PIAA Bulbs

Hi Members,

I recently change my headlight bulbs by removing the whole assemby out before installing it back. However, my aiming is just terrible. One beam seems to be pointed upwards while while one is at a downward angle. Is there a trick to putting the assembly back into its place? Or do I need to do some aiming adjust? and how?

Thanks.

Re: PIAA Bulbs

i have to do the same thing, and from what i see, there's a "leveler" thing (neon fluid in a capsule with lines and an air bubble)

another question: how would set up HID's in my car?

Re: PIAA Bulbs

I am a custom car builder from Kansas City and have worked on quite a few GM vehicles. I know that when you replace the bulbs in the manner that you did, which is by far the easiest, it is very easy to knock the headlights out of adjustment.

In order to adjust your headlights at home you need to pull up to a wall, garage door, etc and turn on the headlights at low beam. Your low beams should be approx. 20-24" up the garage door. Adjust the headlights by locating the torx style adjuster and turning it to adjust the up down on each headlight. Know, turn on your highbeams, they probably won't line up so adjust the lights once more to align (sort of fine tuning).

To adjust your side to side on the lights you will need to park somewhere with approx 100 feet in front of you (pointing downhill is the best choice as you can see the light spread) Your headlights should be slightly to the right as to not blind oncoming traffic, but still generally in the middle. You can adjust this by locating the other torx adjuster and turning it.

I think the adjuster is a size 15 or 20 torx, but you can also use an 8mm socket if you can get it around the adjuster. If you have any other questions just let me know.

Trevor
