Question Cleaner Lights...Buld help

I recently bought clear lens for that ugly amber stock light along with euro clear tail lights. The problem is I want to get all new bulbs that are stealth chrome when not in use and a color when they are. My question is what size bulbs do I need, how many for the front and back, and do the brake lights act as a signal as well? I was hoping to put amber stealth bulbs in the rear as my turn signal but I don't want to have amber brake lights, you feel me?

I don't know te answer, and to be perfectly honest I haven't seen any bulbs like that but it sounds intresting.

Can you post pic's with them both off during the day and on after dark?

Re: Cleaner Lights...Buld help

http://www.stylinconcepts.com/parts....categoryID/353 theres a link for the bulbs but that is not relevant. I believe the bulbs are 3157 but I'm not sure how many of them I need. I think there are (2) 3157 in each tail light and (1) 3157 in the front signal lights. Thats a guess though.

My idea is to get amber signal bulbs and red brake bulbs. Could this work or do both the tail light bulbs go on while braking? If they go on together or even alternate while turning then I would need to just get all red in the rear, with the exeption of the reverse lights which would be clear.

The basic look I'm trying to achieve is all clear lens with colored bulbs (red for braking and amber for turning) BUT I do not know how many to buy or even the true size to buy, now at $29.95 I don't wanna get the wrong ones. Someone help!

Re: Cleaner Lights...Buld help

Each taillight assembly has three bulbs. 2 x 3057 for the Brake and taillights and 1 x 3156 for the back up light. The 3057s come on at the same time.

The front turn signal bulb is a 3157a. The small bulb on the side is a 194a

You're thinking of Sylvania Silverstar turn signals. They are blue/silver when off but are the correct color when lit. Most parts places should have them

Blazer SS where did you buy the l.e.d.'s and did you need to get a relay because of the low power draw from them?

Re: Cleaner Lights...Buld help

No relays at all, I got them off of ebay, I can't remember the seller off hand.
the rear bulbs have 32 l.e.d's each, there are so many different ones to choose from . Just make sure that you get red for the rear, if you don't ,expect to get stopped and ticketed.

Re: Cleaner Lights...Buld help

Im having trouble finding some of the lights, I got the 3057 and the 3156 but I can't find the 3156A or the 194A (although I think 194 would work). All I know is I really screwed up my last car's electrical system with the wrong lights so I don't want to have the same problems again.

Re: Cleaner Lights...Buld help

The 3156a and the 194a are the same sizes as 3156 and 194. The "a" means that the bulb is amber.
