84 porsche 944 hybrid question

alright guys, not sure where i should put this since im new here. ive got a problem. i recently purchased a 84 944 with a chevy 3.8 v6. its got a holley 2 barrel on it. i got this car cheap. anyway, i got in it yesterday it started up like usual, really strong. then i back out and i kill it (not used to carbs yet) then i go to start it and it wont start. i figured id just flooded it. anyway, i get in it today to try and start it. no go. used starting fluid, still no go. its getting gas, but im think its not getting any spark. the person who did the swap, used the coil packs from the motor. im just wondering if anyone can give me somethings to look for. i know i got myself into this trouble, just hoping someone can give me something to look for.

Like you said, look for spark. Take the plugs out (still attached to plug wires), and crank the engine a few times.
