Re: 97 camaro hard starting when cold cranks fine

try this: before crankign you car, turn the key to run (you know, as far as it can go w/o crankign over)... listen for the hum of the fuel pump priming, when thats done crank... see if that helps or if you notice anything

The pump is quiet, but you should be able to hear it prime the engine...
Sounds like 'mmmmmmmmmm...click' then start.
If it doesnt prime, then there is an electrical issue...if it does prime, then just add some STP fuel system cleaner to your next full tank.

Re: 97 camaro hard starting when cold cranks fine

Some of our cars just take time to startup when cold(and gettin old).
Mine is an 89 and in the morning, it usually takes a couple tries to get started...in my car, its the same story as yours(except it has 165k on it...lol)
This summer I plan to put in a new fuel pump to see if that fixes it, I think the pump just aint pumpin like she used to, buy other than that, I dont know.
