A few Audio wiring questions..4 my new 98.

Got a new sound system the other day, my amp install kit has 4 gauge power wires, just wondering where the easiest place to feed the power wire thought the firewall was?

also what’s the easiest way to feed the pile of wires i have from the front to the trunk?, and where other people have bolted the ground wire in the trunk, what works good and is the easiest?

for the power line there is a A/C water vent tube that may be big enough to work on the right side of the firewall. Look/dig around and see what better options there is. This wiring may not be good enough for the high temps around the engine (it will melt). You may want to wrap it or make sure it is very far from the engine heat. Even cutting a heat-proof tube (hose) to put around the wire may be a good idea. When working around high heat special wiring is used = people sometimes forget this.

Usually there is a group of wires that go to the back of the car on each side. You may need to pull up some carpet or lower trim pieces.

The ground will need to be found somewhere on the chassis. Find a piece of unpainted chassis, exhisting nut/bolt or grind down to metal. Test for the ground by testing for resistance (ohms) with an Ohm-meter ($10) from the negative battery lead to the ground area. The reading should be damn near 0 to maybe no more than 5-10 ohms of resistance. Really you want a zero reading = that is your goal.

Have fun. Make sure none of those wires are allowed to be cut due to vibration etc against rough areas. Wrap or tube them if need be.
