Brake warning light when accelerating from stop
Hello,
I have a Honda CRV. Purchased in 99 or 2000 date range. When I accelerate fast from a stop the Brake light comes on. If I let up on th e gass or brake a little the light goes off. It only comes on when accelerating from a stop. It will not come on if I am driving and accelerate. If i accelerate slowly or at a more moderate rate it does not come on. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be? I am going to take it to a shop but I would like to know the opinion of you guys first. Thank you for any suggestions or insight. -Rhino989 |

Re: Brake warning light when accelerating from stop
I'm having similar problems with my 99 CR-V. The brake light will come on when it's cold outside and will not go off until the car warms up and I turn off the ignition and then turn it back on again. Also, I've got Viper alarm system with keyless entry and the lock/unlock doesn't work when it's cold either. The alarm will arm, but the doorlocks will not activate.
Anyone got any suggestions for me too? |

Did you check your brake fluid level?

Re: Brake warning light when accelerating from stop
If the brake fluid is still full you may need to to replace the brake fluid cap. There's a float in there that can get saturated, sink, and simulate low fluid level-turning the light on.
