Question 2001 blazerspeedometer-abs

2001 blazer when I took off from house ABS light was on and brake light warning on. Speedometer not working and transmission not shifting right is there anything that ties all of this together? I need to find out what to check.

Wheel Speed sensors and VSS sensor.
You need to get a ABS and eng/trans capable scanner on it and get codes and readout sensors.
Post back codes No's.

Question Re: 2001 blazerspeedometer-abs

went through about 40 pgs. of threads and maybe if I cleaned the sensors that may help. Last night I was in cornfield with cornstalks about 1 ft. high. maybe I have dirt or something up in there!!! I was in field because I thought coyotes were back there with livestock!!!!! You think this may be something to chk. on the sensors? And what are VSS? Hard to get somewhere to check codes because of tranny not shifting into higher gear

Craw under there and check the wiring to each wheel and look at the plugs in on the trans sensors.
Them cornstalks are hard on wiring. Hit them sidesways instead of head on.
They will even punch holes in rad.
Good luck

VSS = Vehicle Speed Sensor
And Yes - if that is disconnected, shifting will be HARD. That happened to my van once when I had it repaired and they forgot to reconnect it. Doh!

I would get under the car and check for loose wires/connections.

Take Care,

on a 4x4 it might be on the transfer case near where the drive shaft connects.

Also clean the front wheel sensors to be sure.

Don't think so, you should be able to see them attached the the dust shield.
