Gas Tank

hope you can help,seems when i fill my gas tank we get a terrible smell,i see the seals leak,is there a solution? does anyone know a base ball quote for this job and also,would this cause the car to run rough? Thanks,Dave :

From what i have seen, Acclaims have chronic tank issues. My tank rotted out and not a single scrap yard within an hours drive of me had one that wasn't just as bad...

Dont buy a used gas tank; new ones arent that expensive and really.... its going to save you in the long run.

I replaced the fuel tank in my 89 Acclaim LX. Not only did it rot, but the fuel tank studs rotted and snapped off. I replaced the fuel pump/sending unit/straps and obviously, the fuel tank. Oh, and a few lines. Dont half a$$ it. If you rig it up and go to sell the car one day, you dont want somebody blowing up because you cut corners!
