Whats the difference....??

Between the 1998 Windstar 3.8 and the 1998 Windstar 3.0 besides the obvious engine size. Which one is better, harder to work on, parts prices differences. The reason I am asking is I am looking at a 98 3.0 at 137k to purchase for a 2nd vehicle.

Re: Whats the difference....??

I have read that the 3.0L engine is not as prone to problems as the 3.8L
Of course, it will have less power as the 3.8L in the 96 and newer windstar is 200HP, which is pretty powerful (more powerful than the 3.8L engine in the Chrysler or GM minivans at the time)
There are not as many 3.0L engines out there in windstars.....which is another reason that you do not see many posts here about that engine.
