A/C vent temprature.
The ambient temp here is 50F so if turn the A/C wide open and take a thermometer and stick it in the A/C vent what temp should I see? Friend said it should be approx ten degrees below ambient.

Re: A/C vent temprature.
I was wondering if you ever found out what the temp should be?

Re: A/C vent temprature.
I had one of the Radio Shack thermometers with an extra probe stuck in the middle vent last fall and got it to set off the "freeze" warning (39 degrees F). I believe it was in the 70s that day.
Take Care,

Re: A/C vent temprature.
Thanks for the repiles. I bought a .96 cent bulb thermometer at WalMart and it showed 40F and gal I know who works for Ford service he said 40F is about as good as it gets.
Must be some kind of internal regulator that shuts the cooling action down when it gets to a certain point otherwise it would freeze up and you wouldn't get any cold air at all. I also changed both filters behind the glove box so we should be ready for the hot summer time. My old body is ready for it to, winter has been here long enough and I'm ready to jump in the pool and relax in the sun and have a few cold ones.
