Starting HELP!

i have a 1967camaro and eevry time i trive somewere i have to let the engine cool down for it to start again. when i turn the key it dosent even try to turn over nothin what could e causing this and how do i fix it?

Heat soak in the starter. Try a heat shield for the starter, Summit sells one for $17 made from stainless.

i just replaced the starter about a month again . so ur saing that it is just getting to hot?

Yes, the engine/exhaust heat is transferred to the starter and causes the windings impedance to increase, causing the starter to not turn over.

ok well i just whent out side to try and start it and it still took 3 times to finaly turn it over so.....

Vapor lock is where the fuel in the lines and or carb boils and turns to vapor. for the fuel pump and carb to work, the fuel must be in liquid form.

THANKS AGAIN, WOULD THAT CAUSE THE IGNITION TO TO DURN OVER THE ENGINE ATALL? BUT HOW DO I FIX VAPOR LOCK AND WHAT CAUSES THAT? I HAVE A K&N AIR FILTER AND A HIGH FOW k&N TOP

i do have a inline fuel filter and when the engine is turned of the filter loses all the gas in it. could that be the problem?

Not a reported problem. He said it doesn't even crank. Try the heat shield like you were advised, Chevy123. The next step up in fail-safing it is to install heavier wire throughout the starter circuit. I'm referring to the finer wires in the cranking circuit, not the heavy ones from the bat to the solenoid. The wires responsible for energizing the solenoid are too thin for hot starting conditions in many cases. I’ve done this mod with all my model years.
