STi vs. 350Z

I've been lurking in this forum for about a year now, but I have never posted a story before. I thought it was about time I should add something, since I enjoy reading your stories so much. I have a rally blue STi with gold rims, with catback exhaust only. Also, this first story is a kill, but I have no shame and I'll be happy to post my deaths in some other threads. This was my first race, and it happened shortly after my engine was broken in, so probably 8-9 months ago. I was coming off the highway, and there were two right hand turn lanes. The road I was turning onto was a major road, 3 lanes wide, but this was late at night so there was hardly any traffic. As I said my engine was newly broken in, so I was feeling it out, and took off reasonably fast when the light turned green. To my surprise I see in my rearview that a car is keeping up with me, and preparing to pass on the left side! It turned out to be a silver 350Z, and I had always wondered how the STi would do against one. I slowed down to let him even up with me, bumper to bumper, but I also downshifted to third so I wouldn't have to deal with lag. The STi is fairly weak at low RPM, so I kept it at about 4K RPM. He is flooring it the whole way as he tries to pass me on the left, and as he evens out with my bumper I floor it. Turbo spools quickly, the engine is screaming, and my heart is pounding out of my chest. We take it up from about 40 to 90, and I slowly pull on him the whole time. By 90 I had about a full car length on him. We didn't get a chance to run again, but we gave each other the thumbs up before he made a right turn. I had thought about buying a 350Z before the STi, but I knew right then I made the right choice.

I've always liked the STi's and I like them in your color too that rally blue. Anyway, good kill and welcome to AF, hope to hear more stories from you and see you around.

Re: STi vs. 350Z

wait......you pull on the 350z only a car but then you race a skittle and pull him by 4-5 cars......yeah I would figure the skittle needs a little help in the tunning dept....
