96 blazer whining
there's a loud whining noise thats comes from the back. it also gets louder the faster you go starting around 30-40 mph. im pretty sure its wheel bearings but wanted a second opinion. its got almost 180K miles. standard tires so its not tire noise. thanks.

Re: 96 blazer whining
Could also be pinion bearings as well.

Re: 96 blazer whining
thanks for the tips. i will look into the u joints. Turned out the right axle had a pretty bad groove in it (1/16" to 1/8" deep). had to go back for oversized bearings which are working pretty well for now. i havent had this thing for very long so i think this has been a long time coming.

Re: 96 blazer whining
U-joints for sure.
Shoot some grease in the rear one and see if the sound goes away. If it does, then replace the u-joint. Edit: BTW, use Moog parts.
