Had a few questions about my Civic 91'
sorry i'm not very familiar with this car yet and i was wondering if i could get some help. Sorry i didn't use the search feature cause i don't have much time on the computer right now. So any help would be appreciated! thanks in advance.
note: this is my first project car any help would be greatly appreciated. 1. I would like to find out what model my engine is and how can i identify it. 2. When i swap my engine for a different one.. Do i reset the Clicks? ( i have heard that this was illegal oddly ) 3. What do u suggest as a reliable suspension. Because i usually have 4 other passengers in the car and i don't want the car on its ground scraping the paint. Also Speed bumps are a bitch =(. 4. If i were to get a high flow cat back would i be burning more gas? thats about it for now. Thank you for your time. |

Re: Had a few questions about my Civic 91'
Jeez.. your gonna have to do some homework guy! but if you wanna find out about your car, i think the best think to do is go get a hanes manual, there amazing i got one when i got my first civic..jus pick one up for a 86-91 civic, as for your engine code, your can find it on the front side of your engine blockits by the leftish side its on a flat piece of casting. it will be something that starts with a D like a D15 or D16 it all depend on what type of civic you have. so thats the engine code! so you for your spring a civic isn't that bad i had 6 poeple packed in my si an it still kinda flew haha but if you want better go the step up with some all-round integra ,you'd be getting rear disk brakes and bigger front disks too, thats what im in the middle of right now, but other then that ..i forget what else you were asking? but i hope that helps a bit, if you can't find it coem back on and tell us what model your civic is, if its a cx,dx,si,2dr,4dr? who knows? ok talk to ya then

Re: Had a few questions about my Civic 91'
no you can't reset the clicks,,lol i've tried but you can get another cluster with lower km on it from another civic at the scrap yard.!or where ever! an as for the high flow cat-back think of it liek this..more flow-more gas needed for that extra flow. but if your talkin liek this you best be throwin' a turbo in there haha, good luck and if theres something you can't find on here the web is good for seaching to..

Re: Had a few questions about my Civic 91'
Just use the search function.
High flow cat just frees up a few ponies while staying legal... oh, and makes a nice sound when you let off the gas coasting in gear (ie. car drives itself).

Re: Had a few questions about my Civic 91'
haha sweet so you got the same car i got haha sweet little thing eh, runs liek turtle but still its a honda never the less. so then your engine is a d15a and your might want to look into jus gettin yourself a whole new engine haha thants what i did after my mini-me swap and dpfi to mpfi but mabey start off swapping the fuel injection to mpfi, then if you think you can handle poppin the cherry out an throwin a bigger one in then . all the power to ya we're all here to help ya through it..i was helpped when i first came on here to an still am. so jus ask away no questions a stupid question allthough some guys on here are chumps and can't see past themselves to help out a starter civic lover.. haha but theres good guys here to and girls...good luck bud

If you have a b18c the head will probably read dohc vtec, which you can now consider yourself my hero for....and if its a b18c5 Ill die.
