Im getting fed up with my car. Dont get me wrong, I love it to death. Its just that I now realize I got the wrong car for what I want out of a vehicle. Heres my plan:get a summer job and save about 3-3.5k and then sell my car for 3k. I want a 3rd gen camaro so bad i cant stand it. I was looking at parts and cant belive how much cheaper it is to mod a smallblock chevy than a honda. I figured, whats the point of dumping 5k into a motor and barelt be in the 12s? I've already passed the idea by my folks and they're cool with it. I'll need to pay for everything on my own if i get one, though. Oh well, good things come at a price. Thoughts?

insurance is going to bend you over and have its way with you. im guessing you're under 20, that's bad if you want to won a camaro. if you have the money for the insurance and the car, go for it, they're fun cars, but make sure you don't get a ticket or you won't be insured for a long time.

i like the camaro idea but i think it's better to get a early 4th generation camaro. Most of the time i'll say get a 98 and up but seeing that you're aiming for a 3rd gen i'll say that you should just look around for a 92-97 cos LT1>TPI

^ I'm with him. I love the bodies on the 3rd gens but if you want to mod it out you would be better off getting a 4th gen. They already start off with hp than the 3rds. Not to mention I got a 4th gen Bird and they ride smoother than I thought it would.

But honestly, that would be pretty cool. And like everyone else said, just make sure the insurance company wears protection.

Ahem.. anyway nice to see that, but if you want to get some serious power out of a 305 you're going to have to go inside of the engine and stuff. (Just to let you know you can get 400 HP out of a 305 without a supercharger or turbo)

Also like other people stated.. 4th gens do outdo 3rd gens in power but they're also a bitch to work on because how small the engine bay is but.. thats how it is. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Go for it! They are all good to me doesn't matter what year, matters how much money and time you throw at it. My 97 6spd formula would thrash my 88 T/A TPI though big time. That's why they make aftermarket parts . The third gen can be as fast as you want it to be.

Never mod a 6 cylinder Chevy, they sound like shit, almost worse than Civics. You may be spending more to mod a honda, but you'll spend more than that in gas with the camaro.

Not to mention, cruising around in that style camaro....you're gonna need the mullet.

Do it right though, get an Iroc or a B4C though any B4C will set you back a min of 6k and will be vary hard to find caw's there were less then 300. note that they were only 1992 the last year but they had the best of everything exept for a 305 V8 rather then a 350 and 90% were auto's. but most were texas cars so not much rust. the Gen 3 were the best but if you dont get a B4C the frist thing I would do would be upgrade the rear brakes to disk. anyway good luck...

Get an I-roc, then make sure the paint is really shiny. Cause then cops cant use their radars on you.

Sweet, everyone is relatively suportave. The main reason I want a 3rd gen is because my dad had one when I was little, but my mom got it in the divorce and sold it. I don't just have to have a camaro. Is there any other fast car that could be had for 6.5k or less? I was also thinking about a V-8 S-10.
