Question Beginners mods with 89 Supra Turbo

Hey everyone. Just tryin to help my buddy out right now. I was wondering what would be the suggested mods right now. He's looking to get a boost controller, along with a cai (would a homemade one be better/just as good as the $150 ones?) as of right now. Also, how much boost can a ct26 take, even with supporting mods. Thanks.

Re: Beginners mods with 89 Supra Turbo

basic would be intake exhaust down pipe, and safely run 14 psi, i think, it has been a while since i had mine. but a home made cai is just as good as the $150 ones. get a bigger intercooler also, with all of this he will probly be around the 300 range.

What up 97, didn't know you had supra aswell. Yeah, my buddy just got one last weekend and he wants to make some little adjustments to it. So he basicly needs a downpipe, custom exhuast, bigger IC, and what type of boost controller?

Re: Beginners mods with 89 Supra Turbo

any kind, i had the cheep one that you adjust by hand. It worked just fine. I hade a 87 supra turbo with the sport top. i had all of that stuff done to it, then i drove it and i was amazed about how fast it was. So i let my friend drive it and he totaled it. But now i have a 92 camaro, but to tell you the truth, i rather have my supra back.
