Wai,Cai Question...Is more Better?

Is it really false to think that with a CAI or WAI that you would save gas? I mean I hear alot about improved fuel economy but how can that be? Lets see if I got this right. With an intake the idea would be to push more or cooler air, etc into the throttle body( breaths better). But if you push more air thru it faster wont the computer compensate by equalizing with more fuel. I think that the computer would monitor the added air and say hey I have to send you more fuel also? Is my thinking on track? So in reality gas mileage would go down. Its wierd You always see somthing that promises more HP and better fuel economy. How do you get both? You dont. Its one or the other. Can someone tell me the scoop?

Re: Wai,Cai Question...Is more Better?

Well for the most part nothing is going to change. You theroy is correct at WOT, but at normal speeds or normal accel. then it will take less motor to push your car, causing less fuel to be used, that make any sense. It will be easier for your motor, but only at normal speeds. So everytime to get on it it blows the theory out and decreases you mpg. Hope that is not confusing
