Resignations....

The company I work for is known for its constant re-structuring. Yesterday one of the employees became a casualty of this, being a bit septic about it sent an email companywide - a snippet follows:

"For those of you who don't know me, I'm another statistic in the greater ***** Redundancy Scheme - one less bean to be counted, some might say.

I would like to thank all the wonderful people I've met and worked with over the last 15 years, and wish you all well for the future. Please see the attached PowerPoint presentation which really illustrates in laymans terms what the company's direction is, and why the upheavals we've grown to know and love are a necessary part of the corporate animal's diet.

So long and thanks for all the fish! "

I must say the powerpoint presentation was hilarious!
Whats the worst you've ever done when leaving a company for greener pastures???

Mr T. I would never have thought that about you!!!! :hehehe:

I haven’t done anything when I’ve left. I’ve wanted to do and say many things, but ended up doing nothing! :o

I've never damaged my employer when I left a job (I sure as hell wanted to on more than one occasion). I just always looked at how it could damage me in the future.

At a bakery where I was a dishwasher:
Towards the end of the evening, let all the dishes stack up REALLY high... There were TONS of 'em! Then I was like "oops... I gotta go grab something out of my car" walked out to my car and took off...

I always liked the scene from "Half Baked" where the guy that's working the grill was all "ƒû©K ÿØù! ƒû©K ÿØù! ƒû©K ÿØù! You're cool! ƒû©K ÿØù! I'm OUT!" and flips that hamburger patty at that kids face...

Anyone else think "Office Space" was the funniest damn movie ever made?

Better not do anything like that if you get in trouble with your Class F, if you know what I mean.. Forklifts are very important!

Leaving

The last job that I left was almost 30 years ago! I was selling TV's making $1.25/hour with a 2% commission. I worked there for 2 days and called in on the third to send my check to my house.

The funniest movie I've seen on this subject was "Fun with Dick and Jane" with Jane Fonda and George Segal. I had it on tape and my wife at the time taped a soap opera over it! The funniest part I thought was when George Segal got fired and he started looking for another job as an executive. He was standing on the corner in his suit and with his brief case along with the rest of the day laborers. Just too funny!

The company I am working at has just laid off 500 odd people.....lots and lots of farewell emails and such, some very bitter. Its quite sad really.....some of them have been around since the companies humble beginnings and are being ushered on with some very poor treatment.

Its been a rude awakening for me...managed to keep my job, but I have only been in the workforce for 18 months and have already been through 2 restructures, during both of which I was forced to compete against my collegeaues and friends.

It sucked

When I was fired (for being to cocky) I walked out of my boss' office, told him he was lucky that I didn't slit his throat (in front of a group of customers waiting to be seated), and walked out (with $50 in tips from the mornings breakfast...)

When I went to get my check, he had left it down in the security booth for me to pick up... guess he didn't want to see me again :P *shrugs*
