Re: boost?

i dont think octane makes a hugh difference, i would be more worried about how much pressure your internals, head, and block can handle

Re: boost?

the high octane isn't going to help you, these small turbos will only hold around 10 PSI to redline. Trying to boost anymore than 15 PSI will just make the turbo force in a lot of hot air into your engine, in which point high octane isn't going to help you. Plus on top of that, your on stock fuel so you will hit fuel cut anything past 14.5. If you want to boost more, look into upgrading turbos and fuel.

Re: boost?

I think that Mitsubishi as a whole makes pretty good engines. I remember seeing a video of some Evo making around 830-ish whp, and the camera was focused on the boost gauge...which was flopping around well over 30psi. That had to be one of the funniest things i'd ever seen

Re: boost?

^Don't you belong in the supra forums or something... how is that relevent to a VR4's boost??? Go polish Vin Diesel's shift knob, don't bother people with your worthless off topic bitching... okay maybe that's a bit harsh, but seriously, that really isn't relevant...

If it's a nice cool day, and you're running 110 octane you might be able to go 17, but I wouldn't do it before I upgrade my turbos and injectors...

Re: boost?

110 would be overkill for stock turbos and fuel systems for the reasons Hotshot said.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: boost?

How was that being an asshole?? Its the truth. These engines are stout and can handle boost.
