ok, let me start by saying my jeep is out of control with repairs. First in the morning my 1994 jeep grand shakes like it is going to fall apart wile it is in drive, but when in neutral or park it is fine. Now that is not the worst of it, when in reverse it makes a loud grown which does go away (after 30 sec.) to leave me with the sound of bee’s under my car. I really have no clue what is going on. I don’t beat on this car, I take very good care of it and I have over 4,000 invested in repairs, but I am starting to get furious at this jeep.

Re: my 1994 jeep is going crazy
1 - check tranny fluid.
2 - What is the RPMS at when the jeep shakes out of control (when in gear)? Sounds like the IAC Valve is not adjusting properly to the added load on the engine ad the RPMS are dropping. |

Re: my 1994 jeep is going crazy
Since you folks are on the topic of IAC's...
I'll be changing out my IAC motor for a new one soon (figure after 12 years it's about time). I noticed that the IAC motor comes in a box with nothing else. Do I just remove the old one and pop in the new one? Or is there a special adjustment that must be made when putting in a new unit? Thanks! |

Re: my 1994 jeep is going crazy
Yup thats bout it. remove and replace.
On both the IAC that I replaced, it came with instructions to adjust the IAC Pintle. Soem don't I guess if it doesn't then you don't have to adjust it, it also doesn't mention adjusting it in the FSM. |
