Re: umm crap!

How much oil and how do you know it's on the flywheel?

If you've pulled the transmission and there is oil all over flywheel then it's either the rear main seal, or the front seal in the tranny. The rear main seal can be replaced pretty easily with the transmission off, but the tranny seal requires that the transmission be completely dismantled. Which one was loosing oil, the motor or the tranny?

If you just have oil on the outside of the starter and the transmission bellhousing, then it's either a bad distributor O-ring or the transmission is overfilled and/or overheating causing it to blow oil out the vent tube and onto your starter/transmission.
