2000 EB Exporer Climate Contol Wiggin Out

I've owned this vehicle since 2002 and the climate control has always behaved, however yesterday on the way to work it started blowing HOT air from the dash vents for some unknown reason. Outside temp was 28, the temp was set to 72 as always, and if I dropped the temp it continued to push out large amounts of air. It then started switching the blower from high to low and generally spazing out. It appears to me that the internal thermostat has failed??? If so, where is it located or what else might be the problem be?
