Cops...your thoughts?

I got followed by a cop tonight and had to go up a big hill with him behind me so it was kinda hard to do it quietly. He finally pulled me over. Funny as..
Cop, "Ya wanna turn the motor off please"
Me, "What?"
Cop, "Mate, turn the motor off"
Me, "What? I can't hear you!"*Smiling at time*
We talked for a while and he said I should do something about the noise and I told him that was the noisiest muffler I could find!!!
I think he expected a 18 year old driving it or something.(That's enough from you spunky)
He let me off and he was laughing as I waited for him to leave before starting it again.
I've found if you treat them Ok you get the same back.
Anyone else?

Sorry to come barging in on the Honda section, but all my encouters with cops have been bad. I treat them with respect, honor, dignity and a touch of camaraderie... and I always get THE SHAFT!

I like it when they're smart to you, "Do you know what a RADAR does young fella?" Uhm yeah actually, I can pull one apart and rebuild it, ours pump out gigawatts and how many Rusiian fighters do you think you could follow with that? Can I please check the calibration on that, then allow me to check if the calibration IS correct or if the sticker was put on by somebody just doing you a favour...... And have they ever proven whether or not these provide different readings off different angles of my car....... Im sorry officer I just wouldnt trust the return to be too accurate off a hand held piece of equipment....

what....what would I say :hehehe:

I think I get a similar sort of look from them, cause they expect a asian guy with baseball cap on or wog to be driving my car

I think yeah, if you treat them ok, they will treat you ok too.

I can’t say as I’ve had any problems with any police, but I do try and go past them very quietly when I see a police car. Uphill can be a bit of a nightmare though, especially when one is sitting right behind you.

I don't have many problems with them - they're pretty good and I have a lot of respect for people who put up with the shit they have to.

I got booked last week - my mistake for not watching the speedo. Fair cop. The guy could have nailed me for doing the trapped speed (116km/h) which put me into the second bracket of 15km/h over the speedlimit and 288 buck fine - instead he dropped it to 114km/h and made it 125 buck fine. Told me to watch out as they had a few new possies on the Hume, commented on how nice the car was and was polite and courteous.

They do a shit job and get fuck all thanks for it - I can't say I have issues with them

I have to agree totaly with Setanta and B16a4me on this.

They do a shit job, but genneraly are really nice ppl.
If your nice to them they will return the favour.
I have however had negative encounters with cops doing only traffic duty. For some reason the guys who fail to make it as real cops get assigned to traffic, and they end up with a massive chip on thier shoulder.

Tell you what...

after i got defected...i thought pigs are pigs and they all stink...

but after my mums office was in a bit of trouble...and i had to call the police...and their response changed my mind about them...

when they want to be pricks they can be...

but when ya need them when you're in trouble...they are always there.
