Question 97 Cav "Microprocessor Unit" ? ! ? !

Hi all... I hope you can help me with this. My daytime lights arent working and my bright light indicator on the dash is screwy. Sometimes it is on when the brights are on and sometimes its on when the low beams are on like its out of sync. Anyhow my good ole Haynes Manual says that if the daytime lights arent working its either the DRL relay or the "Microprocessor Unit in the instrument cluster assembly" I checked the relay and verified it is good. But im not sure what this microprocessor unit is. Is it something i can buy at the local parts store and replace? Or do i have to replace the intrument cluster?

Thanks for any help....

Im not real sure what your saying here other than you dont think that its the processor. But my question is can the processor be replaced or does the instrument cluster have to be replaced to replace the processor? The bulbs and connections seem to be good and the switch works fine.
