HOT! Fiero problem.

I'll make this as short as possible.....Last November, just before putting my Fiero (1985 V6) to bed for the winter, the throttle stuck while my son was driving it. Very high rpm for ten or less seconds. I freed the throttle, but now it starts harder and won't idle except if I keep the throttle at 1500rpm or sometimes slightly higher. The check engine light comes on at low idle just before it dies, and the code indicates a map/maf sensor. While trying to locate this sensor, I was messing around the air intake and discovered a greasy black film in there. At that point I put it away for the winter.... This is where things get ugly..... Every few weeks I start the car and warm up the engine to the normal operating temperature. Well.... last weekend, before it was even warm, I had flames coming out of the exhaust pipes...really!! Melted my bumper, among other things stored behind the car. Where should I start?? Anyone have a grey rear bumper for sale???

Re: HOT! Fiero problem.

that black film in your intake tube is porbably just oil comming past your pcv valve. Real cheap and easy to replace. I don't know about those flames dude... check your ecu again.
