What should I expect?

Well I timed my car 0-60 mph and it did 6.71 seconds all stock. This friday after I replace all hoses, vacuum lines, and some fluids I am also planning on installing my boost controller and the new boost gauge I got. I am thinking of boosting the pressure to 15psi from the stock 10 psi. What hp gains should I expect and what do you think my new 0-60 mph time would be? Anything bad to look for when I boost the pressure such as increased turbo lack, etc?

Re: What should I expect?

according to my calculations... roughly 6.2854 with a wind speed of 8.923 mph. dont think we can tell you your 0-60 time exactly by your description lol, but it will def be faster. just watch the gauge and make sure u arnt running lean... lean = bad. you prob shouldnt have a problem becuz i believe the stock internals can safley go 16 psi... but then again im not sure. and with your t25 (i think u have a 2g but iforget now and dont feel like hitting back and typing again) you arnt going to notice turbo lag because its such a small crappy turbo, theres not much to lag. good luck!

Re: What should I expect?

ok so now i realized u have a 1g with no t25 sorry. anywayz with the 14b, its still not going to make a big difference, nothing to be worried about at all, it will still spool up fast.

Re: What should I expect?

I have a 1g. I know no one can give me an exact number. I was asking for stimates in case someone has done the same and used a timer to check the improvement. I think power-wise this is a simple question to answer since at least someone must have done a dyno with stock boost and then with increased boost. Maybe not. I was just wondering, that's all.

Re: What should I expect?

I know a stock 2g awd with a good tune makes around 180awhp, a fwd 1g might make ~200whp. Just a guess

Re: What should I expect?

It all honesty. You should feel a little bit more power but nothing to be amazed about, check dsmtuners.com's tech guide for ways to make your car faster or search on here, theres a million of threads on stuff like this.

Re: What should I expect?

I actually noticed a huge gain by doing the free mods...but I guess I had some huge boost leaks so that might explain it

Re: What should I expect?

a boost controller will add a noticeable gain. Not much but it is noticeable.

And I would run 16-17 psi since you have a 14b. It can handle it just fine.

Stock can handle way more than 16psi

Re: What should I expect?

Yeah, the fuel system is what is limiting everything to 15 PSI for now and I don't mind that. I want to take everything slowly step by step. In the very near future I am planning on upgrading my fuel pump to the Walbro 255 from ebay and then possibly boost the turbo to its max before upgrading the turbo. Like I said, I am doing everything step by step and saving my money for now and until I make sure the car is in a reliable condition and ready for modding.

Re: What should I expect?

its going to take more than a 255 if you want to run 20+ since a 14b maxes at ~22. Your looking an injectors(you can get away with the stockers since they max out at~30lbs/min which is about the same as a 14b)and your going to need a regulator with that 255.
