Power Door Lock Actuator
I am having a huge problem. I have a 2000 Grand Cherokee and everytime I try to lock or unlock the doors, 3 of the 4 doors making this gosh awful noise. From what I have read, it is the power door lock actuator. I have found a used jeep parts dealer locally who can get me the actuators for around $35 each. My question is, how difficult will it be for me to remove and replace the actuators myself? Has anyone attempted this task? Thanks for any advice and input.

I have a 2000 Grand Cherokee with the same problem. 3 out of 4 did the same thing, luckily a month after I bought it from CarMax - who covered it. Then about a year later, one of the ones replaced is doing it again. I stopped at a Jeep service center and asked if they heard anything like this; the answer was no. This must be a common problem - anybody else?!
