Question air bag light

The air bag light came on this morning with my 1999 Regal GS when I first started the car. Ran an errand, turned the car off and back on and the light flashed (for a longer period of time than the seatbelt light) and then went off.

Ideas???

I tried a search thru the forum and didn't find anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: air bag light

If the air bag light comes on and stays on that indicates that there is a problem in the system and needs to be checked out by a dealer. If the light is off and remains off then the system is working properly. If it comes back on take it to the dealer and get it checked as the air bags may not work in the event of an accident.

Re: air bag light

The light came on and stayed on in the first drive of the day. After the second crank, it came on like normal but continued to flash for a while after the other lights went off (seatbelt light).

I just had my regular place check it and it didn't give any codes.....I just don't want to take any chances of the air bag not working properly.

Thanks.
