clicking with air on???? HELP

every time i turn around when im running the heater in my car if i run it on the ac max setting its fine but if I change it to any other setting it starts clicking...any suggestions?

Sounds like the AC compressor may be inadvertantly cycling...

Clicking sound from inside or clicking sound from the motor area? If it's a clicking that is proportional to the fan speed then it could just be something caught in one of the ducts. If it's coming from the engine area, the clutch on the compressor could be bad or something fishy could be going on electrical wise causing it to cut off/on.

the clicking sounds like its on the inside... as long as i have it on ac max then its fine... and it doesnt click any faster if i turn it up either.
