Re: Spark Plugs

Did you even attempt a search? These subjects have been discussed no less than 50 times.

AC Delco is the recommended brand. Plats for 96+. Standard for all others.

There are How-Tos for changing the number 3 plug in the sticky at the top of the page titled "READ ME BEFORE POSTING!!!!!".

Re: Spark Plugs

And remember OEM plugs only hurt one time.
That aftermarket crap like Bosch plugs will bit you in the rear many times.

Re: Spark Plugs

Install Delco plat if you own a 1996+.

For 1995 or older, the standard AC Delco or AC Delco Rapidfires work nice.

Re: Spark Plugs

I wouldn't wait, I would take them back now while you can get your money back.

Re: Spark Plugs

You should be able to.
When you pull them out you may even see something going bad like not firing good or cracked tips.
Just take them back where you got them. Be nice and tell them you are not happie with them and ask them for money back or the right AC-Delco plugs that the good book calls for.
If they do nothing then have a good foot stomping fit.
A good time to have one of them fits is when they are real busy like rush hr.
Go threw a good 15-20 minute fit and tell all of the customers in there about how junk them Bosch plugs are and that they will not give your money back or make them good.
Also ask them if they are going to pay for a new cat or engine if them Bosch plugs damage them from not running right.
That should do it. Good Luck.
Let us know how it goes.

For sure and just say they were defective.

You have the receipt and they can't deny you if they are only a week old.

Re: Spark Plugs

You have every right to take them back and don't allow some counter-monkey to tell you otherwise.

If they bawk, tell them to get the manager down.

Re: Spark Plugs

I'd also recommend ACDelco plats. I am thinking about them when I do mine soon as well.

Re: Spark Plugs

I use NGK spark plugs for my blazer and they work just fine................

Not to be really off topic but are there any advantage/disadvantages to iridium spark plugs.

Dont they have any better use for meteor rocks then to make spark plugs out of them?

A few GM trucks have switched to NGK factory install and replacements and some the iridium spark plugs.
It is safer and better to us the type of plugs that the good book calls for.
If you stray away from the factory OEM specs for the plugs you may run into engine performance problems and engine and cat damage if the right plugs are not used.
So far no other spark plug manf. has really matched the corrrect heat range/type of plug that a GM engine needs.
I always suspect that AC delco has the patent on it and will not let anyone else match it. Just my idea.
As far as Iriduim plugs I do not know the answer.
You might go to the GM and ACdelco web sites and get some info or get the lastest AC-delco spark plug application book.
I always though the platumin plugs were real good.
But who knows what they will start making them out of next.
