2002 Passat crankshaft actuator sensor
OK, I'm not positive if that is the correct name for the sensor. It's on my stepson's car and he was told that he'd have to have the whole front end of the car removed to replace it. I'm interested to find if there are any sites that may show pictures of the location of these sensors. I found info when I was searching for my Lexus O2 sensors and MAF (the dealer wanted $360 to replace the MAF...two little screws right in front of you at the airfilter. Yeah, right!). Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: 2002 Passat crankshaft actuator sensor
need the correct technical term
cam position sensor is fairly easy to replace crank sensor is not (but doesnt require removing front of car "service position")

Re: 2002 Passat crankshaft actuator sensor
Thanks, Veedub. I'm trying to find out what the diagnostic code was, but it's good to know that it probably won't need a major teardown to replace the sensor.
