My clock resets on the factory radio

As least every other day, I notice my clock has started at 1:00 again. It does not loose the station programming, but the clock resets. As far as I know, the truck is not loosing power of any kind.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Re: My clock resets on the factory radio

Check all power and ground feeds to it.
May be telling you it is time for one of the new radios

No problem I hate radios in a car anyway. I would rather listen to my engine run.
But some people can not drive without them. Including my wife.

Re: My clock resets on the factory radio

What year is your Yukon? My 3 year old son like to play with the reading lights. Sometimes, if the light is on long enough, the clock will reset. Not sure what year it started but my 2000 has battery run down protection and power to the radio is one of things that is cut if the battery gets low enough.

You could have a bad battery or something is drawing power causing the run down protection to kick in.

Re: My clock resets on the factory radio

My 2003 Tahoe was doing the exact same thing last October ('05). It turned out that the battery terminals were badly corroded. The draw from the starter basically was causing a mild short in the system, which actually damaged the battery. I cleaned the terminals (replaced the bolts for the side post), dropped in a new battery, and problem solved.

Re: My clock resets on the factory radio

all radios come with a memory wire,(+12 volts), das a memory wire problem. sounds like it's disconnected or cut. what the wire does, is hold settings and time of you radio while the ignition is off.
