starting problems

I just recently replaced my alternator in my 90 P/U 22re, after i put the rebuilt one back in i went to start it and nothing. not even a click. im no mechanic but im thinking maybe i put it together wrong? please help!!!

Battery?
Always recharge the battery when replacing the alternator or you may be replacing the alternater again.
A dead battery may fry a alternator trying to charge it back up.

Check the tightness and cleanliness of the battery terminals. Make sure they are making a good connection.
