Re: best motor for s13

what the heck is an sr20gtr? oh dear, prepare for a lot of research...

what type of driving are you aiming for? drift? drag? auto-x? rally? daily driver?

oh wait, by sr20gtr do you mean an sr20det from a pulsar GTi-R? don't, that's set up for AWD, which you don't have.

Re: best motor for s13

all motor? eh, you shouldn't really be looking into the sr20det or any skyline engines since they're all turbo then if you're going that route

Re: best motor for s13

I bet he doesn't even know what all motor means. Listen, do some research, there is no "best motor" the fact that your even asking that shows that you know nothing. So go learn about the engines.

no man he is totally right. He is not making shit hard for you. Your expecting someone to tell you what to do. Go do your own damn research first and learn it on your level. The best engine is what ever engine you want to buy...thats the best. Rotary, v8, sr, ka, rb, vq, 2jz wtf ever you want, thats the best engine for you. It seems like people make it hard for you, but that question is so broad and noob-like that thats why it seems that way....(if that makes sense). There is no BEST engine. Truth is...any engine you pick stock is going to be a slow pos. 5grand can make a KA go vroom. 5grand can get you a decent sr clip and supporting mods to make it run right. It all depends on what YOU know and what YOU can do as far as work goes. Thats how you determine if something will be cheaper/better/more for your money.

You come on saying i have 5 grand what should i do with it? Give it to me, thats what you should do? I mean wtf kind of question is that. More research, study each engine to see what kind of powerband and what not is more to your liking. And see what is involved in each engine to see what upgrades would be smart to buy first.

and no dont go buy pistons, crank, or upgraded turbo. By shit that needs to be replaced and have a strong running motor. Shit if you dont know about engines...i wouldnt buy anything that has to do with a serious upgrade to one........the best thing you can honestly do is, keep saving, dont get all spend happy so you can impress the highschool girls and beat a fucking rsx (which isnt f'ing hard). Read up and do mass research and then you will see why people respond the way they do. Cuz you will feel the stupidity. Im not bashing you at all either lol, its just the way it is. Once you have a better understanding, you will know what to buy. Seriously man, just read up.......ALOT. Then buy when your ready, dont buy cuz you have the money and superstreet says your cool now if you have this!!!!!! And dont go spending all your cash on motor shit, if you need other parts that are worn out for you car. You know like suspension, drivetrain, etc etc. There's more to a car than engine........what are your GOALS for the car? Like what? Everyday nice streetable driver? All out circuit? All out drag? Puuuurty show car?
