Wtf!!!!!!!
ok, check this out.
On saturday afternoon, I drove my 96 Z-24 all over and went to the store and got some oil and a new filter. changed the oil and filter with no problem. after I finished I went inside never starting it. Monday morning I get up fire it up and let it warm up for a minute or two and I pull out of my driveway. As I'm pulling out I see this thick trail of oil all over my drive way. I pull back in and jack it up thinking I forgot to tighten something. Nope everything is tight. Also the massive flow of oil has stopped cause i shut the vehicle down. So i fire it back up and the oil starts flowing again. Now here's my problem, I have no idea where it's comming from. It looks like between the oil pan and this aluminum waffle looking plate. Any clues anyone.

It probably coming from the oil filter. Sometimes the seal from the old filter stays on the housing when you remove the old filter, and when you put the new one on, there's 2 gaskets instead of one. (new and old). Take your oil filter off, and see if there's two rubber gaskets. Whatever you do, don't run your engine before fixing the problem, or you'll seize it. If you still have the old filter hanging around, check it to see if the gasket is still on it. If it's not there, it's probably on the engine block, causing this problem. The only other thing it could be is that your new filter didn't come with a gasket.

the leak is comming from no where near the filter.

Someone at work told me maybe the rear main seal, what da ya think?!

It could be the rear main, but it's just funny that it would happen right after an oil change. Did the car leak oil at all before?
If there's any way you could get a pic of where the oil is coming from, I might be able to give you a better idea what it is.

also, you now what really pisses me off is that, the filter i used was a napa brand filter, and it was my first time using one.
I gonna try to post a picture where the oil is flowing from tommorrow.

ok, I know it's been awhile.
Heres a update, if you check another post i had, It was about power steering. Well i took the pump apart to see where it was leaking from, when i put it back together, i didn't put it back in the Cam correctly. well the Cam got a little twisted, and didn't seal right, so thats where the oil was coming from. I managed to get the Cam together , I had to force it back in, but at least i didn't destroy it. Thanks for all your help fellas
