Any Help Will Be Appreciated...

So a buddy of mine has a older Blazer (80s style) not sure what year but it has a 350 in it with the stock radiator. Now the problem is that the radiator is bad and he wants to replace it but hes not sure if he was to get another radiator from a donor car that should fit his truck will it be ok with that paticular engine? I'm not even positive if the radiator is stock but I have no idea what to do. He told me the engine is out of a van if that helps.

I believe that it is a regular full size Blazer not the s10 style but I could be wrong. Tomorrow I'll find out more.

The old one had a crack, near the top, in the plastic driver's side manifold. This was not a manufactured crack to sell a radiator. Once he pointed out the crack, I could see why the source of my leak was so hard to find. I elected to get a new one from his shop and installed it myself because he was too busy to install the radiator on my schedule.

Replacing the radiator was very easy. Probably, the most time consuming part was draining the old radiator.

Re: Any Help Will Be Appreciated...

Very true.

It is not worth the gamble to install a used rad which could really mess up everything and cost you 1000s.

Re: Any Help Will Be Appreciated...

Especially considering the fact that any used radiator for the vehicle in question would be at least 10 years old.

Re: Any Help Will Be Appreciated...

True, and you don't know if that person took care of the cooling system or even if the rad failed and is the reason that truck is in the boneyard in the first place.
