98 maxima ignition problems

I own a 98 nissan maxima and for some reason, when I start it up, I have to hold the key all the way down and shake the key back and forth and by some miracle the car starts. I am wonderin if anyone else has had this problem and if this is a loose ignition or a short in the ignition and how I can go about fixing it. Thanks for your time. Josh

Re: 98 maxima ignition problems

Sounds like your loose connection diagnosis is correct. Taking it to a dealership or a locksmith should fix your problem.
