My X is bottoming out.

Hi everyone,
I have a question to all 05' owners. Have you experienced a bottoming out in rear suspension on your trucks. I have one of very first 05s manual, off road versions.
When I have five average people in, my truck hits the rubber stops even in a city driving. Once, at the time I had three people on a back seat and about 60 lb. of laggage, I had mesured a distance between top of the rear axel housing and rubber stop, it was 2in. It is obvious that this will not allow enough travel for the rear suspension.
According to the owners manual this truck is designed to tow a traler with up to 500 lb. tonque weight.
I cannot imaging having few people in, some stuff, and towing a traler without my X sitting firmly on the rear suspension stops.
By the way there are four of them ( ones between rear end and the frame, and ones that are above front section of leaf springs. They supposed to stop first, but I have no signs of any contact on those).
I'm very interested if anybody else have/had similar essue, and any suggestions on how to deal with the dealer.
Thank you.

Yeah, there have been others complaining about that. Recent discussion going at nissanoffroad.net:

Re: My X is bottoming out.

I had the same experience this last weekend. I also have a 2005 X Off Road 4WD manual transmission with the Nevada towing package and had the same problem.
The reason I bought this car was because with an Off Road and a tow package, my belief was that the suspension would be stronger.
My problem ... four adults and carry on luggage in the trunk and my X is bottoming out on the freeway.
I also checked the distance between the top of the rear axel housing and the rubber stop and was close to 1.5" just like you.
Something must be wrong. I measured the car unloaded and the distance betweeen the rear axle housing and the rubber stop was 2.5".
May be Nissan is trying to give customers a mini van ride on an off road machine.
What are the solutions to this problem? Is the suspension that wimpy? Is the suspension adjustable?
I thought that I purchased an off road car. I did not buy the off road package to go down the street to the supermarket.
Possible solutions:

DETAILS:
1. Longer Rear Shackles. Stock 4" to 6" which will provide more clearance.
2. Cut 1" Off the axle stop
3. Air shocks instead of Bielstein
4. Add a leaf
5. Unloaded clearance between the axle stop & the axle housing is 2.5"

I would like to hear about solutions to this issue.

Re: My X is bottoming out.

I ended up buying a 3" lift from Calmini and my problem was resolved. Now I will buy some time when money is available their front and rear bumper. The bumper that comes stock with my X gets in the way of the wheels.
