Question 1990 Cadillac Brougham

I Am Thinking About Purchasing One Of These Cars. I Am Meeting With A Guy Tonite Who Is Selling A 1990 Cadillac Brougham. Im Not Sure Of The Milage, But Should I Focus On Anything In Particular When Overlooking The Vehicle. I Am A Part-time Mechanic, But I Am Not Familiar With This Car. Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated.

Re: 1990 Cadillac Brougham

As you noted, the car is 16 years old and will be no better or worse than the maintenance done over the years. Examine the overall condition, road test, then try to ascertain the maintenance history, concentrating on oil changes and cooling system maintenance. Caddies are no better or worse than any other GM vehicle vis a vis component parts. They excel only in those areas that show, such as paint and interiors. They are loaded with some fine features that are assembled with components of no better quality than in a lowly Cavalier and they fail as regularly as in any other GM product.
