What's needed for a 6'' lift?
I want to put on springs that raise my 2002 Wrangler X atleast 6''. It is currently raised 3'' - 4'' with some shocks for that lift... which I think might be good enough for 6''. What else would I need for this 6'' above stock lift? What about the drive shaft? Transfer case drop, or slip yoke eliminator etc.? Basically I want to get everything right (or as close as possible) on the first sweep of installs. Please give any and all advise. Thanks
![]() Oh yeah, I'm doing a 1'' - 2'' BL as well. Let me know what to expect, and how to avoid problems! ...Both cheap and the best options. Thanks.

Some of the items you will need to take into consideration at that height for a decent performing Jeep are longer and adjustable control arms both upper and lower and front and back adjustable trackbars with a drop bracket, drop pitman arm or crossover steering, extended brake lines, longer swaybar links, SYE and long travel CV rear driveshaft, maybe an extended front driveshaft depending on your suspension setup. Its not a cheap proposition to go beyond the design limits of the stock suspension. Of course you could just throw some taller springs or spacers on there and be done with it but dont be surprised if the performance, handling and ride of your Jeep goes in the crapper. |

Re: What's needed for a 6'' lift?
lets not forget the rear upper ajustable control arms and shoch relocation brackets in the rear! you will be needing alot of money to go that high man! also you say you have a wrangler X? you best be sure that you have the dana 44 rear axle or dont even think about doing it! the best way to tell is to look at your rear pumpkin and if the fill plug is rubber its a dana 35(dont want larger than a 32 in tire) and if the plug is metal you have a dana 44 and prob dont want to go larger than a 35 in tire! you should do a ton of research before you get into a 6 in lift cause if you dont know what your doing you will have a lot of problems I promise you! you would be best off researching on www.jeepforum.com
