Hi Im new! 2003 cavy owners?

Hi everyone! I new to this forum and just wanted to say Hi to everyone. I’m 22 years old from New Jersey. I own a 2003 Cavalier Coupe sport package. I had power windows installed last year and next month I am having a power sunroof installed. I am also having it lowered at the same time. I have the alloy Rims that came on it also but I may replace them in the summer. Im just looking to see any other 03 cavy owners to maybe get some advice as to what else I can do to my car. I also wanted to know how I can post pics of my car? It doesn’t let me attach it anywhere L if anyone can help me I’d appreciate it

Thank you J

Re: Hi Im new! 2003 cavy owners?

Welcome to the forums CavalierChick! I drive basically the same car as you. Except mine is red. I haven't done too much to it mechanically yet. I put subs, an aftermarket deck, and an amp in it a few months ago. The only other thing it has is the Sylvania Silver Star headlights. Soon I'd like to put a cold air intake on, headlight and tail-light lenses and eventually put a supercharger on it.

Here she is...

Re: Hi Im new! 2003 cavy owners?

Mine doesn't have power anything either. It came with just a radio (no cd/tape), so I replaced that, figured I'd add some thump while I have the dash apart. I think the only option it came with is A/C. Sure glad it has that! I can live without the power windows and locks, even though I wish I had them sometimes. I forgot to mention that I'd like to tint the windows and get some 16" aluminum wheels this spring or summer.

Re: Hi Im new! 2003 cavy owners?

Yeah I hear you, I didn’t mind it the first 2 years but I got kinda raped on this car financially so I figured im stuck with it another 3 years I might as well do shit I like to it. What does this GM Supercharger do? Can I add it to my car? is it expensive? Ive never even heard of that before. I had all my windows tinted all around 35% but in NJ its illegal so I took the front tint off and just left the back windows. The tinted windows are great for the summer when it’s mad hot out! My car came with 16’s on it but my budy at auto image said this summer he can get me a good deal on 17’s but since I am lowering my car I think I’ll just get different rims. You should def tint the windows though it looks so hot. I really love my car. Let me ask you, whats the mileage on your 03 cavy? I have 54,000 since I used to work in Manhattan. My warranty is up and I had some issues with my car. First of all, the fuel pump went which was $535 with labor, and then the starter went which was about 300. Did this happen to any of you? I love my cavy so much but im afraid more things will go wrong with it! Well w/b when you can J

Re: Hi Im new! 2003 cavy owners?

GM Supercharger= Fast Cavalier

With the charger and having a dealer install it, will run around 3,000-3,500 depending on where you go and who you know. With the supercharger expect your cavalier to be about as fast as a stock 00-04 Mustang GT.

I love my Cavy too, it gets me to point A and B, and the Ecotec engine has a lot of pep. And it can be modified to have over 700hp, if you have the cash. (They have 140hp stock) I was going to get a truck, but at the time, gas was WAY too expensive. But since it's gone down a fair amount, and I'll be making more money, I may look into one. 2003-2006 Silverado 4x4.

My Cavy has 75,000km on it, which is 46,500 miles. (I live in Canada). I bought it last June with 44,000km on it. (27,280 miles). I work in Renfrew which is 15 miles each way. Work 5 days a week, and now that I'm in my schooling part of my apprenticeship, I drive back and forth to the far end of Ottawa everyday. (35 miles each way). So the miles get racked up pretty quick! Thankfully my schooling is over on Friday, then I won't have to travel AS much.

I haven't experienced any of your problems with my car. The only things I've had to do to it is re-program the PCM, and replace the wiper transmission. Since I work as an mechanic apprentice at a GM dealer, I can do all the work myself with no labour, and I get parts at cost price.

I dont have a charger and i can say that I am faster the the new 06 mustang gt. Raced one ant the track recently and smoked him...though it could have been driver error...
