94 RS Roller Valves.
Since the 94 cav 2.2 has roller valves. Does it also have a roller cam, and roller rockers? Why did they decide to put roller valves in the 2.2 motor? Was there any particular reason? That would be cool! A roller setup in a 94 cavalier with a 2.2 motor no less! I thought my 70 chevelle 327ci was my only roller set up! LOL....

Re: 94 RS Roller Valves.
Roller lifters are mainly meant for less friction and thus a slight hp increase. One of the reasons the 94 2.2 picked up 10hp over 1993....but far from the only reason. And yes,the cam needs to be ground to compliment the fact that the lifter has a rolling wheel rather than a convex ground wear surface.Thats not for hp,but to keep the lifters from rotating as they do in a normal cam/lifter setup.
