Stock alarm going off.....

my wife drove the gp this morning and said the alarm was going off down the road when she hit bumps. also it would go off when she only opened the passenger door. This was the first time ever this has done this. Has any experienced this before and does the manual tell how to disable tthe alarm? or is there a fuse to pull instead? thanks

Re: Stock alarm going off.....

Most GPs have a shock sensor as part of the theft deterrent system. The sensor is located by the BCM module at the left hand side of the dashboard. On driver's side of dash there is an access panel as you open the door. Sounds like it is bad or just needs a sensitivity adjustment.

Rotate adjustment knob counterclockwise in 30 degree increments to decrease short alarm sensitivity level. Clockwise to increase. Test by striking the driver's side tire, etc.
