Throttle Body ?'s

I am going to be reaplacing a lot of the intake part of my car in the next month or so and had a question on throttle bodies. What would be better for my car a 52 or 58mm throttle body. My mods are in my sig and I plan on adding a Moroso CAI, Granatelli MAF sensor, Trick Flow Elbow and then the throttle body. As for future plans I am undecide on the big 3, LT4, Nitrous or Supercharger, my goal is mid 12's once done.

Re: Throttle Body ?'s

i got a 54mm throttle body off of ebay, its a stock tb ported out to that size... it looks stock to anyone that would look under your hood, and it costs about 200, plus you get a 40 dollar refund if you send him your throttle body for him to port

Re: Throttle Body ?'s

You don't have enough mods to warrant a larger throttlebody. Bigger cam, better heads, etc..then think about a larger throttlebody.

Re: Throttle Body ?'s

like morley said...i dont think you need a larger tb yet...your stock one should be enough until you start reaching 400hp or so...

Re: Throttle Body ?'s

I hear alot of people tell people that they don't need a larger TB and this may be true however. I have also seen stock LT1's (for the most part stock) gain between 5 - 10 horse from adding a 52MM TB. So I say get yourself a 52MM but I have also seen LT1's lose 10 horse from getting a 58MM. So I say get a 52MM. Also buy a ported stock one. That guy that ports them on ebay has quite a deal its comes out to be like 120 after you send in your old one and alot of the aftermarket one's leak. Dave and I both bought from the ebay guy and have had no problems from mine.
