98 Saturn SC2 Idles Rough then runs fine

My girlfriends 98 SC2 1.9 DOHC is freaking posessed. anyway our latest issue happens when the car is first started when it is cold (which is everyday in wisconsin) when that happens the engine hesitates and idles real rough (RPM fluctuates violently for about 3 or 4 seconds or until you give it some gas. Then the idle smoothes right out and the car runs fine until it cools down and you start it up again. I have a few ideas but anybody whose seen this problem before any help / suggestions are much appreciated.

thanks

Re: 98 Saturn SC2 Idles Rough then runs fine

for the most part, this problem is normally the connection on the tps sensor. when its doing that wiggle the connector or mess with the wires a bit. thats what normally causes the issue but should happen more often. id just say check out that first.
