I have a squeak at the rear of my 2001 Taurus engine (vulcan). It is definately away from the belts and seems to be coming from the vicinity of the throttle and throttle body. No check engine lights, oil ok, tranny fluid ok. Any ideas?

Re: Squeak at rear of vulcan engine (2001)
Hghly possible it is the camshaft positioing sensor. These sit under the air intake hose just below the throttle body.

Re: Squeak at rear of vulcan engine (2001)
Had the exact problem on my old 01 ses vulcan. Dealer replaced the CPS syncro, and the sensor itself. The syncro was causing the squeaking and the sensor was also bad.
