Is this fluid any good???

My shifter has been having some problems while cold. I get the 1st-2nd weird noise when shifting. I am pretty sure it's time for a new fluid. I did some search and I found this Royal Purple Syncromax Fluid from dsmparts.com.
Do you have any tips for using this fluid or it's just a direct replacement? The car is a 1g gs-t with 160k miles on it.

Re: Is this fluid any good???

I've honestly never heard anything bad about the royal purple line of products, but i can't say that i've heard about this fluid, i'm sure you can do some google searches and research it a little bit if you can't get any answers here.

Re: Is this fluid any good???

Yeah, i did some search but the results I got were general for all Royal purple fluids and they were all good. I am just more curious if I should mix it with anything so I don't get any leaks?

Re: Is this fluid any good???

I have used Royal Purple motor oil in my k5 blazer with a 406ci, but only in the summer, 50 weight doesnt work well in winter in Iowa...Wonder why? haha...
Anyway, Royal Purple is all the rage around here in anything high performance...
The other one to look at is Redline oil products...Never tried them but hear good things...
GOOD LUCK!

Re: Is this fluid any good???

I already ordered 3 bottles of this fluid for $27.99 total. I am just worried about some leaks since I read in an earlier post about someone putting some of the syncromesh fluid and getting leaks from his axle seals, IIRC. I hate leaks and certainly don't want any to deal with

Re: Is this fluid any good???

Really? Boy, you can tell I have never done that before. I rebuilt a whole 87 vw golf but that car is soo simple compared to this one. I really need to buy me a manual. Any suggestions on what's the best when it comes to manuals??? Hanes, Chiltons,..?
