Angry 1998 Grand Prix

Hello all! I am new to this site. I recently bought a 1998 grand prix. I love my car. Sooooo Far!!!!!!! Previously I owned a 95 Taurus and I had nothing but problems with this car. So I sure hope that I made a good decision buying the grand prix, the car is fully loaded, leather seats, heated seats, chrome rims, the works. The only problem I am having is that the front passenger side fog light is burned out and it won't pass WV state inspection without it. I can not figure out how to get the stupid bulb in . I will be driving from Huntington wv to wheeling wv this weekend and i hope the car does alright. It runs great so far. But, I have a fear because of the other car braking down all the time. any feed back on the grand prix 98 would be appreciated.

Re: 1998 Grand Prix

Kathy, which engine do you have and how many miles? I have a '97 with over 300,000 miles on it and it still runs good with mimimal problems. I have replaced the fog lamps a couple of times. As well as I remember, it is a push and turn procedure to remove the lamp but it has been so long ago I'm not positive.

PS I don't much give one either.

Re: 1998 Grand Prix

Well you made a good choice coming from Ford to GM. I think you'll be happy with your Grand Prix. They have a few bugs, but just about every one of them is easily fixable and you'll find loads of information in this forum on how to take care of them. The guys who frequent this forum are some of the best on the entire AF site when it comes to knowledge of the car.

I had to do a search for a problem on my sister's '91 Integra and I found a post where the guy had the same problem but the type of replies to the problem were "Take it to the dealer." or "I don't think many people here are good with electronics."

It's the complete opposite in the Grand Prix forum and the other W-Body forums, for that matter.

As for your fog light, I believe it's a twist and turn cap and then you pull the bulb straight out. If you don't figure it out by tomorrow, I'll figure it out tonight since I need to take off my driver side fog light and get some condensation out of it.

Enjoy your GP!
