Over $2,000 for a windshield!?
Hey everyone I was researching prices for new windshields and I was wondering if anyone out there has the optional heated windshield? If so, one of my local installers quoted $2184.96 (not including taxes)!!!
"Did I read that correctly"? I wondered, so I called the shop and got that price confirmed over the phone.. I'm pretty glad I don't have this electriclear windshield, but if I did, and if it got a huge crack in it, I most certainly wouldn't fork over 2200 bucks for a new one! Does this outrageous amount sound right to anyone?

That is GM factory list price, try Triumph or Safelite dealers.

I checked Triumph, who I deal with as a Ins. Adj. and they quoted an Insur. price of 1677, installed, upstate NY.

Don't those heated windshields have a funky yellowish-brownish tint to them? I have only ever seen one of those before on a mid-90s Oldsmobile 98. The big one, built on the the same body as the Caprice, Roadmaster, and Cadillac Brougham.
