Driver Information Center Problems

I hope this post finds everyone well, it's been a while since I've been on here...

My sister has a 00 GT/70K. Recently, the DIC has stopped working. When she starts the car the DIC flashes 0 on every function, and the 'trac off' light comes on and stays on the whole time.

This happened before for about 2 days. the DIC would flash for a few minutes after startup and then return to normal operation. Since she lives about 45 minutes away, and she just told me about it today, I haven't actually seen what's going on yet. I plan on going to check it out tomorrow but I wanted to get some heads-up if anyone had experienced this before...

Obviously i will check fuses and relays and the like but other than being just a bad DIC...?

TIA.

Re: Driver Information Center Problems

When you get the flashing 0 it indicates a loss of serial data between the DIC and most likely the other devices which feed data to it like the PCM. However, high probability the problem is on the DIC side. Either loose electrical connectors, cold solder joints or DIC module. Difficult circuit to troubleshoot.
